Dragon of Yaounde have put UMS of Loum in check as the Cha Cha Boys took away all three points on offer this Wednesday in match-day Two of the 2021/2022 MTN Elite One championship.
In the presence of over 300 fans at the Limbe Middle Farms Stadium, Arthur Essale handed three points to coach Stephane Edjangue’s team courtesy a 27th minute strike that came off the crossbar before hitting the goal guided by Camille Noah Omboudou.
Camille Noah Omboudo could only watch as the wicked effort from just outside the box forced him to pick the ball from his net for the first time this season.
Dragon took the one goal cushion to the break though UMS looked dangerous.
A very improved early performance in the second segment could have brought UMS back into the game. Coach Agbor Ernest’s team could have been reward in the 53 minute when a Willy Nnameji’s effort from outside the box came off the woodwork.
Dragon had their moments but UMS had the best chances in the second segment.
Victor Mengue could have leveled for UMS in the 65th minute but his effort on target was well gathered by Willy Noa on goal for Dragon.
The best chances of the rest of the half fell to the men of Loum but Joseph Momasso, Willy Nnameji couldn’t break the strong Dragon defensive set up headed by Bassir Soudi and Jules Binthou.
A late penalty shout from UMS 12 minutes from time was waved by referee Maria Goretti.

The game ended on a one-nil score in favour of the Cha Cha Boys in a historic game which; Diangha Maria Goretti became the first woman in the the professional league era to manage a men’s top-flight game.
“It is just how we wanted to start this season. Our team played per instructions, against a good UMS side that focused on aerial balls,” Stephane Edjangue told kick442.com post match.
The defeat leaves UMS of Loum with three points from two games while Dragon that have a game in hand against Cotonsport of Garoua counts three points.

Cotonsport completes Match-Day two matches on Thursday at the Ngeme Omnisport Stadium against Eding Sport de la Lekie in a fixture that always produced surprises.
