Renaissance FC de Ngoumou has earned her first three points of the 2021-2022 MTN Elite One championship after picking up a 1-0 win over FC Yaoundé II at the Middle farms stadium in Limbe on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022.
Jean Yves Mbida Anguissa’s 49th minute goal put his side ahead of their opponent until the referee’s final whistle.
Both sides came into the encounter looking to make amends after losing in Match-Day One.
Renaissance de Ngoumou were outsmarted by Eding Sport de la Lekie 3-0. While Yafoot II were one-nil losers to UMS of Loum.
It was another heartbreaking event for Yaoundé II FC who had looked in the course of the game like they would outsmart their opponents but were prevented by brilliant saves from goalkeeper and Captain Parfait Joel.
Yafoot could have taken the lead at the 18th minute of play through a free kick but Marc Bertin Atangana who was pre-selected for the CHAN last year and played the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania made a poor effort.
The first segment of the game ended in a zero all draw as efforts from both sides were unable to produce a goal.
The second half of the game seemed promising as Jean Yves Mbida Anguissa’s wide shot went straight to the back of goalkeeper Joseph Essedi’s net just three minutes into this segment.
The second half pressure on the boys of Coach Pierre Cyrille of YAFOOT caused him to do a midfielder substitution of Joel Owono Noah for Kevin Ngongang Nana.
It was Ernest Loic Ngah’s foul on opponent that caused the referee pull out his first and lone yellow card of the game.
The game ended on a one nil score in favour of Renaissance of Ngoumou.
The two teams have been in the South west Region since the start of the championship last weekend as pool B games are staged Limbe, South west region of Cameroon and Bafoussam, west region of the country.
