Anye Derick of Cotonsport of Garoua has become the first goalkeeper to keep four consecutive clean sheets in the MTN Elite One championship for the 2021-2022 season.
The experienced keeper who has been at the heart of the impressive twist of fortunes for the Cotonites was emphatic on Wednesday in their tenth game of the season, helping his side beat OFTA of Kribi by 1-0 at the Limbe Centenary Stadium.
The latest clean sheet comes barely days after that of the game against PWD and puts him ahead of three keepers in the count of consecutive free kicks this season.
Unbeaten in his past four games; against Dragon, Bamboutos, PWD and OFTA, Anye has smashed the maximum number of consecutive games without conceding tally set by Ashu Kelvin of YOSA, Souleyman Souleyman of Eding, Edmund Sombang of PWD and Avion’s Arnold Penka.

The former Union Sportive of Douala goalkeeper who kept the highest number of clean sheets (14) during the 2019/2020 season is running after his personal best of eight games without conceding in 2020 for Panthere.
Anye’s heroics has propelled Coton to the fourth spot on the log with 15 points going into their next League game against bottom side YAFOOT FC.
