Spanish La Liga side, FC Sevilla have reached out to rivals FC Barcelona to enquire about the availability of potential Senegal international Moussa Wague.

The young defender spent the second half of last season on loan at French Ligue 1 OGC Nice with an option for a permanent deal which but the club resolved not to exercise the option at the end of the deal.

Spanish News outlet MD say FC Sevilla officials are admirers of the 21-year-old and have made their intentions of signing the former Eupen defender known to Barcelona.

The defender made five league appearances for Nice from which he provided one assist before the season ended prematurely two months ago.

The defender joined Barcelona in the 2018-2019 season from Eupen but failed to seal a regular spot in their first team.

He switched to Nice in January after turning down West Ham, as the English Premier League side was keen on acquiring his services.

Wague has returned to his parent club, FC Barcelona and is training with the rest of the squad while waiting for the summer window to open next month.

Sevilla and Barcelona have a good business relationship. Both clubs have done a good number of deals over the years.
