French Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice have decided not to make the loan move of Senegalese defender Moussa Wague from FC Barcelona permanent.
21-year-old Wague joint Nice on loan from Barcelona in January till the end of the season with the option to buy him.
The French club has confirmed they will not activate the option to buy the former Eupen defender.
Wague featured in five league games for Nice providing one assist.
The Senegalese international joint Barcelona in the 2018-2019 season from Eupen but failed to nail a regular place in their first team.
He opted to join the Côte d’Azur outfit in January over West Ham, as the English Premier League side was also keen to land the Senegalese defender.
Wague will now be returning to his parent club, FC Barcelona, as the current French League season has ended prematurely as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
