TP Mazembe’s president Moise Katumbi has assented to the newly created CAF African Super league competition after participating in a working session bringing together some officials of the African Football Confederation, FIFA and Club Presidents in the nation’s economic capital Douala.
The Douala talks were aimed at looking for the appropriate means of making the competition program to debut in 2023, more appealing and lucrative so as to meet the objectives of CAF.
Talking in Lubumbashi back in 2019,during the 80th anniversary of TP Mazembe, FIFA’s President Gianni Infantino had emphasized on the competition being a great booster to the African football.With an estimated sum of 2.5 billion expected to be generated in five years.
Over all a number of twenty clubs are expected to participate in the African Super league competition, among which is TP Mazembe.
However, more talks are expected to be held subsequently by the African football governing authorities, Clubs officials and FIFA.
