It was a weekend of tears for the supporters of Fulham FC. The Cottagers gained promotion to the English top flight last season, but their stay in the Premier League was ended at Vicarage Road where they lost 4-1 to Watford in match Day 32 of the premiership in mid-week, just a season after their return.

Zambo Anguissa

Midfielder Zambo Anguissa who found favor under interim coach Scott Parker played the entire game, but his presence was not enough to prevent a humiliating defeat. With 19 points after 32 games, it’s impossible for them to catch 17th placed Burnley on 33 points. They were knocked down on the night and out of the Premier League. The will play their remaining six fixtures for pride or for some players like Zambo Anguissa try to seduce another premiership club.
Brighton & Hove Albion are currently 15th on the log, but not mathematically safe yet.

They traveled to Stamford Bridge to face an erratic Chelsea who are in an interesting top four battle. The Seagulls were humbled 3-0 with Cameroon defender Gaetan Bong getting a rare start. Bong played the entire game though Chelsea showed their superiority.

Italy 🇮🇹

Torino’s coach Walter Mazzari was a happy man to welcome back his solid Cameroon defender Nicolas Nkoulou Doubena Julio in their home game against 1992 Champions League finalists Sampdoria of Genes. Nkoulou missed their previous game due to suspension.

They fought back to draw level at the 50th minute when Cameroon forward Toko Ekambi got Villarreal’s second. They went ahead to open up a two goal cushion which they ones again threw away partly because of the forced substitution of their Cameroon striker at the 72nd minute due to injury and the sending off rightfully of their central defender Alvaro Gonzalez at the 86th minute. The game finished 4-4. It was indeed entertaining but not the kind of result that will help them in their relegation fight. Toko Ekambi scored his eighth goal of the season in the Spanish Primera Liga.

Cameroon shot-stopper Andre Onana conceeded two goals but not enough to take away the shine from a well deserved victory.

Belgium 🇧🇪

Still overlooked by Clarence Seedorf and his collaborators at the helm of the Indomitable Lions, attacking midfielder Didier Lamkel Ze is one of the first names on coach Laszlo Boloni’s first eleven for Royal Antwerp in the Belgian top flight. The 22 years old native of Bertoua played for 87 minutes before making way for DRC international Jonathan Bolingi at the Bosnuilstadion in their 1-0 win over Genk in their championship Group A playoff game.
In their Group B Europa League playoff game, Royal Excel Mouscron lost at home 0-2 to Union St-Gilloise, partly because of the sending off of their Cameroon midfielder Franck Boya for a second booking at the 39th minute of the game. Still to justify why Clarence Seedorf keeps inviting him for international duty with the indomitable Lions or maybe the Dutch coach is simply undermining the awareness of Cameroonians, Cameroon defender Joyskim Dawa Tchakonte was on the bench in Mariupol’s 2-3 away win against FC Lviv.
