Henriette Michelle Akaba Edoa scored Cameroon’s last goal to give the Indomitable Lionnesses of Cameroon a first win in the ongoing China invitational tournament.

The vice champions of Africa had to work harder for their 3 points.

Lionesses all-time top scorer Magdalene Ngono Mani had put the Lionnesses in front just after the half hour mark but a Goalkeeping blunder from Ngo Ndom Annette let the Europeans back into the game Midway into the second half.

Croatia had something to hold on, until late in the second half when substitute Henriette Michelle Akaba Edoa benefited from a through ball from Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene to make it 2-1 for Cameroon.

Akaba has over the years developed the reputation of scoring important goals for Club and Country. The 2018 Turkish League champion scored 6 goals this season for Besiktas. Her speed has always given defenders all sorts of troubles.

At full time, goals from Ngono Mani and Akaba Edoa were sufficient to give Cameroon a first win under coach Alain Djeumfa.

Cameroon still have one game in the tournament as the team continue to sharpen it’s skills ahead of the upcoming world cup in France.
