Real Betis’ new signing Michaela Abam has scored her first goal in the Spanish La Liga Iberdrola.
Just like last weekend, Abam started on the bench but was introduced in the 55th minutes of the game. The young Cameroonian came came on in place M. Fedorova with Betis down at home to visiting Deportivo La Corunna by 2 goals to 1 at home.
Ainize Barea’s 2nd minutes strike had been canceled in the 24th minutes by Ana Gonzalez before G. Garcia’s 51st minutes strike put the visitors in front again.
Betis’ woes increased a minutes after Abam’s introduction as Ainize Barea got her second and Betis third goal for the day.
Betis kept their push to make it a close contest and in the 73rd minutes Marta Cazailla became Betis second scorer on the afternoon making it 3-2 for Deportivo.
Deportivo killed their host chance of getting something from the fixture when G. Garcia hammered in her second of the afternoon and the visitors fourth goal.
Cameroonian Abam got the final goal of the day with a 94th minute strike as the game finished on a 4-3 score in favour of the visitors.
The result means Betis is still to get a point from their opening two league games this season, they travel to Espagnol Barcelona next weekend.
Abam has taken just 2 games to open her goal account for her new club as she continues to enhance her reputation as one of the most efficient strikers coming through from Africa.
The former Paris FC forward will have to keep her scoring boots on ahead of what is already turning out to be a difficult season for for Real Betis.
