Avion Academy captain and lead scorer, Mfegue Georges Omgba Rodrique was on target this midweek in Melong.

The forward benefitted from an error from goalkeeper Cedric Djomo in the third minute of play to give his side the lead against Stade Renard away at the Melong Municipal Stadium.

The goal was his 7th in 19 appearances this season and puts him just three goals away from the lead scorers Leon Boyomo and Kevin Assiga with 10 goals each.

Mfegue has been a key player for president Pierre Batamak’s side and yet again won all three points for his club like he did in the reversed fixture.

The victory is the first for coach Charlemagne Mbongo who took over from coach Nganbe David late last week.

Avion Academy are just above the relegation zone with 28 points from 23 games ahead of their trip to Bamenda for 11th-placed YOSA of Bamenda this Sunday.

Mfegue scored one of three goals in YOSA’s 3-2 victory in the reversed fixture in Limbe and will be a player to watch in the next round of fixtures.
