20 year old box to box midfielder for the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon,Charlene Iverna Meyong Menene has agreed a new one year deal to stay at with defending Champions of the Cameroon women’s top flight championship,Louves Minproff.

Meyong told kick442.com on Thursday that she has had proposals away from the club but decided to stay with the capital city club for the sake of continuity especially because she needs to play and keep her Rhythm so as to improve her chances of being picked by head coach,Joseph Brian Ndoko for this summer’s world cup in France.

Meyong Menene has spent 4 season at the club. Last season she made 16 league appearances for the club and got 8 goals in that period.

Keeping experienced Meyong is a big one for Louves Minproff especially as the club nurses hopes to defend their league and cup double they won last season.

Meyong has played in the All Africa games,the COSAFA tournament,the AWCON and the Military world cup making the world cup and Olympic games the only tournaments she is still to experience with country.

 

The Meyong made 5 appearances for Cameroon in the 2018 AWCON tournament in Ghana and also scored her first goal for country last year, against South Africa in a very successful 2018.

Her stay at Louves Minproff alongside Ninon Abena,a club she has already established her place in,is certainly an assurance for game time in a world cup year.
