Some African stars in the NBA were in action early this morning despite many other games being postpone due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
In the earliest kick-off, Vincent Gabriel and the Miami Heats lost 100:90 to the Detroit Pistons to bring an end to their winning run. Gabriel Vincent tallied a career high 27 points in the last win but was restricted to just 8 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists today. His teammate in the national team, KZ Okpala could only record 2 points and 2 rebounds. The Heats are now 18:13 and 5th seed in the East, while the Pistons are 5:24 in the same conference.
Elsewhere, the Sacramento Kings bounced back from back to back defeats to beat the San Antonio Spurs 121:114. D’Tigers star, Chimezie Metu made 9 points, 6 rebounds and an assist in the game. The Kings improve to 13:18, 11th seed in the West while their opponent fell further to 11:18 and 12th seed in the same conference.
Finally, the Phoenix Suns defeated the Charlotte Hornets 137:106 to outrightly displace the Golden State Warriors as the top seed in the West. Ugandan international, Ishmael Wainright recorded an assist in the win. The Suns remain 24:5, top seed in the West while the Hornets fell to 16:16 and 9th seed in the East.
