Cameroon Guinness Super League lead scorer Catherine Mbengono starred on Saturday as her side overturned a two-goals deficit to defeat Renaissance Athletic Women by 10-2.
The visiting side from Northern Cameroon enjoyed a spectacular start to the game leading two-nil within the opening 13 minutes.
FAP recovered and scored eight to comfortably walk away with three points.
Bongben Confidence gave the visitors a 6th minute lead which was doubled by the 12th minute as FAP’s goalkeeper Ngo Ndom Annette conceded twice for the first time this season.
A hat-trick from League’s lead scorer Mbengono, a brace from Linda Ngatchou and Naomi Eto plus goals from Lamine Mana and Mbomozomo Brigitte and Rita Wanki completed the rout.
Mbengono, the protagonist of the comeback scored three of the ten goals. She competed a hat-trick in 51 minutes as FAP once again showed their class, all be it against a side noted for their porous defending in the championship.
Mbengono counts nine goals in seven games this season, she is seconded by Farida Machia who has since moved abroad for greener pastures after scoring six goals in the championship.
The rest of the matchday seven games come up in the days ahead.
FAP are currently leaders of the championship and remain unbeaten with a 100% record of seven wins in seven under coach Mike Ndoumou.
