Multiple sources in Mauritania are reporting that eight members of the Under-20 national selection of Mauritania have been tested positive for Corona virus.

This comes after members of the team were subjected to mandatory Covid-19 test, in view of a training camp as part of their preparations for their 2021, Under-20 AFCON tournament penciled for Mauritania.

The team is expected to enter camp for the first time in over three months.

The Junior Morabitones of Mauritania, and the staff members tested positive will be isolated and treated away from the rest of the team for a period of 14 days.

The rest of the team will continue commence training in the days ahead.

So far, Mauritania has recorded 4948 cases of persons tested positive for Corona virus, of which 1896 have recovered while 133 fatalities have been recorded.
