Mauritanian Premier League Champions, FC Nouadhibou have entered a new era without Mauril Mesack Njoya at the helm of the technical staff.
As this Pan-African Sports News Agency announced 48 hours ago, the Cameroonian tactician has stepped down from his role as head coach of the Club.
Current Comoros Island lead trainer Amir Abdou has been named as his replacement with immediate effect while Njoya moves to the general manager role on a short-term contract.
Speaking during the transfer of competence event, the Cameroonian gaffer couldn’t hide his emotions.
“I leave the technical staff of FC Nouadhibou with my head held high after all we achieved here together,” rightly so, coach Njoya deserves to be proud of his time at the Club. The 39-year-old won five domestic league titles amongst others in two separate stints as head coach of the eight times champions of Mauritania.
“I have enjoyed my time in Mauritania especially with this great Club. Thank you all for everything,” the Club legend concluded as quoted by the local media.
Coach Njoya stays in the board role while chasing a national team job in Cameroon.
Former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon great Samuel Eto’o congratulated coach Njoya for the job he is doing at FC Nouadhibou and promised to revert if an opportunity comes knocking at national team level.
FC Nouadhibou are preparing for their title defense in the 2020-2021, plus the CAF Champions League preliminary tie against Ghanaian giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
The Club is hoping to carry its domestic dominance to the continental scene with coach Njoya overseeing activities from the board room role.
