Just days after her 31st birthday Estelle Laura Johnson celebrated her centenary anniversary in the NWSL in her club’s 1-0 defeat in the hands of Huston Dash.The game was played on Monday July 29th and Though the home side, Huston Dash turned out to be party spoilers with a 22nd R. Daly goal, the Sky Blue FC faithful still recognized what an amazing feat Estelle had achieved.
The Cameroon international has achieved a rare feat of clocking a hundred games at the National Women’s Soccer League, and she becomes the first Cameroonian lady to reach the landmark in that division.

The celebrations would be short-lived though as she tries to Marshal her team out of rock bottom (9th) and increase the poor points tally of 8 points in 14 games so far this season. Sky Blue FC was caught in a precarious position when the defender was away for national team duties. Estelle has played just 7 out of 14 games since the start of 2019 for club.

After an excellent Women’s World Cup campaign in France, the football loving fans of Cameroon sort of ran out of superlatives to suit her exceptional talent in all 4 games played. Johnson seems never to have a bad game to say the very least.
Estelle and Sky Blue FC teammates would be in action on Sunday 4th August, 2019 against league leaders Portland Thorns FC.
After the 2019 World Cup in France Estelle has become one of the most admired Lioness with million of Cameroonians showering praises her for her World Cup display.Cameroon will have loved to see Estelle reach 100 caps for country but her late start to international football is a point against that happening.
