Liverpool’s Cameroonian defender Joel Matip and Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker have both returned to full training on Tuesday ahead of their visit to Old Trafford to face their eternal rivals, Manchester United.
Matip who has been in top form for the Reds, suffered and injury setback against Sheffield United, which forced him to miss their games against Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League and their Premier League game against Leicester City. Before these games the Cameroon defender only missed their opening league fixture of the season against Norwich City.
On his part, Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker suffered an injury in their opening league fixture against Norwich City and since then he has not featured for club and country.
Both men were back in full training at Melwood on Tuesday as Liverpool looks to consolidate their eight points lead over nearest rivals Manchester City, with a win against Manchester United at Old Trafford over the weekend and maintain their perfect start to the season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have won all eight of their first eight league games so far this season and are looking good to finally end that close to three decades wait for an English league title.
