Spanish fourth-tier side Manchego have denied reports that Mathias Pogba has left them to join fourth-tier rivals Lorca FC.
Mathias Pogba is the twin brother of Florentin Pogba who plays for Atlanta United in the MLS. They are both siblings of Manchester United’s and French 2018 FIFA World Cup winning midfielder Paul Pogba.
Lorca had announced the acquisition of 29-year-old Mathias Pogba on their Twitter account on Tuesday.
Manchego have made a statement stating that a deal has not been agreed between the two clubs.
“The player, today, continues to have a valid card with our club,” Manchego announced on their official website.
Manchego further announced that negotiations are on-going but a deal had not been reached.
Prior to his move to Spain, Mathias Pogba played for French third-tier side Tour FC, after spending 18 months on the sidelines due to an Achilles tendong injury.
It has not been a smooth ride in his career compared to his illustrious younger brother Paul who has moved from one glamorous club to another. He failed to secure a move to a German club five weeks ago, because of what reports claim to be “overweight”.
The former Celta Vigo player was born in the west African state of Guinea Conakry, and won his first international cap for them in a 1-1 draw in a friendly against Senegal in Paris in 2013.
