Yong sport academy of Bamenda and Eding sports of the Lekie will round off match day 10 action of the league one championship in Bamenda on Wednesday March 27, 2019.

THE STAKES

YOSA are currently joint leaders of Pool B with 12 points alongside UMS of Loum. In case of a win against Eding, the Bamenda boys will go top should Fortuna share the spoils with UMS on Sunday.

A win for YOSA will be a moral boaster, as the team is currently passing through difficult times both on and off the pitch.

Eding was recently handed two extra points by the homologation committee of the Cameroon professional football league and now occupies the 6th spot with 10 points.

Head to Head

The last seven meetings between the two sides in the top flight have seen the them going away with two wins each and three draws.

The first ever encounter between the two sides dates back to April 27, 2016, during Eding’s maiden campaign in the top tier. The game ended 1:1, and the two outfits again shared the booties in the return fixture on match day 31 on August 21, 2016, playing a nil-nil tie.

In the 2017 season, YOSA squeezed past Eding 1 nil in Bamenda on match day 6, before travelling to Yaoundé to play a zero all tie with Eding, though Eding went ahead to win the league that year.

The 2018 football season saw Eding sport imposed their hegemony over YOSA, beating YOSA 1:0 at the CAF center for Excellence in Mbankomo on match day 16 thanks to Christian Emmanuel Nguidjol scintillating display. Eding ended YOSA’s 15 match unbeaten home run with a narrow 1:0 victory in Bamenda on match day 29 thanks to young Horphet Djotsi exquisite effort on target.

Despite beating YOSA home and away in the 2018 season, Eding still ended the season two places behind the Bamenda boys.

On the opening day of the currently campaign, YOSA defeated Eding 1:0 in yaounde to register their first away win against Eding in the topflight. YOSA’s goal was scored by Cyril Fonou.

RECENT FORM

YOSA have picked up 12 out of the possible 24 points this season.YOSA have recorded 3 wins, 2 defeats and 3 draws. The team has also scored 5 goals and conceded 4. YOSA is one of the few teams that have not yet conceded a goal at home this season, and have harvested 8 of their 12 points on home soil.

Eding have been struggling for form this season. They have recorded just 2 wins in 8 games, suffering 2 defeats and 4 draws.

However, Eding have scored 1 goal more than YOSA (6 goals) and have conceded 3 more than their opponent (7 goals conceded).

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Goalkeeper Serge Diguel has played all 8 games for YOSA this season, keeping 5 clean sheets. He is certain to start between the sticks when Eding come visiting. No YOSA player has scored two goals this season, but Brandon Moukete can be a reliable option, as he has 1 goal already in just two games played.

Workaholic Toko Toko Eric and the tenacious Randy Ntume Kwalar may make life difficult for Eding. Asongwe Lovette has commanded the center defense axis in the absence of Adu Wum Elvis and Yves Alain Dooh.

Eding will hope that Ako Assomo who is on 3 goals and Beo Bato Valentine on 2 goals can be in the best of form.
