Tonnerre Kalara club of Yaoundé will host PWD social Club of Bamenda this Sunday March 10, 2019, in a bottom of the table clash in pool A of the league one championship. These two historic clubs will be meeting for the first time in the top in exactly 14 years, since they last did so.

THE STAKES
Since their comeback into the top tier championship, the two sides have had worrying performances, with Sunday’s host, TKC picking just four points in seven playing days, while the visitors are just a point better than them. Their only victories this season came on match day one, with wins over Union and Apejes respectively. Ranked in the bottom of their group, Sunday’s game will be an opportunity for the two sides to start putting the broken pieces together, as they sick redemption from a poor series of results.

RECENT FORM
Tonnerre is on a four match losing streak, as the Mvog Ada club has failed to pick up a single point since match day two of the championship, when they last played a one all draw with Apejes of Mfou. Things started getting worst for them when they suffered a 6#0 bashing from cotonsport, and it was followed by defeats against Avion, Dragon and New stars. Their only win this season was a 3# nil victory over Union sportive of Douala, on the first playing day.
PWD are also winless since their 2#1 win over Apejes in Bamenda on the opening day of the championship, as they lineup defeats against Union, New stars and most recently against cotonsport. The Abakwa boys have also drawn two games, against Colombe and Avion, all in Bamenda, and have failed to pick up a single point out of home this season.

HEAD TO HEAD
The two sides meet for the first time in the top flight since July 24, 2005, when they last met in the highest level of Cameroon football. Their last two meetings in the league one have all ended with draws. Last season, TKC and PWD meet twice in the second tier championship, with the Abakwa boys winning both home and away, with a Dohbit Clovis goal handing PWD all three points in the first league in Yaoundé, with the striker scoring again, to add to Malachi Nfor Che’s goal in Bamenda on the 22nd day of action, as PWD cruise 2#0.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Gael Gregoire Nkama has being in top form since joining TKC, scoring two times in his last two outings. He is certainly going to be a man to watch, as the former league one top scoring is gradually picking up steam, after a few difficult few seasons. Also, Yves valentine Eloundou has not hit top gear like was the case last season, but Sunday can still be an opportunity to do so.
Kongnyuy Jude is certainly the main man for PWD, as he has scored 55 percent of the team’s goals this season. He missed their last game, but his back in camp ahead of Sunday’s show down.

THE PITCH
The venue for the encounter is the Yaoundé military stdium, one of the best football pitch Cameroon can boast of. It will be the first time PWD is playing a match their this season, but the Abakwa boys will certainly love it, as compared to the synthetic turf of the cotonsport stadium, in their last encounter. Kick off time is 3:30pm Cameroon time.
