The former Adamawa Queens midfielder with three goals in the 2020/2021 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership is Edo Queens’ second leading goal scorer behind Elizabeth Zirike (5 goals).
Maryann Ohadiwe is optimistic that she can score more goals for Edo Queens when the 2021 Super Six kicks off at Ijebu Ode next week.
“My expectations are scoring more goals and helping my team to qualify for the Total CAF Women’s Champions League which will start next month with WAFU Zonal Qualifiers.” She told www.kick442.com.
Maryann Ohadiwe who joined Edo Queens from Delta Queens in 2019 scored her first goal of the season on March 10, 2021, as her side defeated fellow Super Six Club, FC Robo Queens 2-1.
On March 17, 2021, she scored her second goal in the course of Edo Queens’ 3-1 win over Abia Angels and her third goal came on April 7, 2021, as Edo Queens suffered a 2-1 defeat to Pelican Stars.
“I felt really good and have always wanted to score for my team. The goals came at the right time as I am always happy whenever I help my team with goals.” Says Maryann Ohadiwe.
After failing to make it to the 2019 Super Four where Rivers Angels emerged as Champions, Edo Queens will compete for the league title as well as a Total CAF Women’s Champions League ticket alongside Bayelsa Queens, Delta Queens, Rivers Angels, FC Robo Queens, and Sunshine Queens when the 2021 NWFL Premiership Super Six kicks off on April 19, 2021, at Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
