16-year-old basketball rising talent Marouf Moumine says he is aiming to become the next Cameroonian NBA Super Star like Toronto Raptors Pascal Siakam.
The young point guard who has nursed ambitions to surpass his compatriot in the discipline is currently ranked amongst several youngsters bracing up for the NBA throne. He has draft eligibility to play in the NBA in 2026.
“I want to be the next Pascal Siakam or even better than him” the newfound talent told state media CRTV during an interview.
Born in Garoua in 2004, Marouf Moumine was inspired by his father who was a fervent lover of the discipline.
“My dad motivated me because he also loved basketball. He used to play and was a coach. He was also my coach and every time he encouraged me to be the best in the court. It makes him feel good”Marouf disclosed.
He began playing basketball at a very tender age with locally-based clubs in Garoua and then Yaoundé where he excelled making a massive difference on the court. The self-assured uprising star was most noticeable with his ball-handling skills, anticipation, and quickness.
“I started playing basketball at 9. After playing in Garoua, we moved to Yaoundé after my dad was transferred. He took me along and tried to put me in some clubs in Yaoundé” Kick442.com gathered.
The promising basketball sensation has been able to showcase his talent to a broader audience who got a glimpse of his undenying qualities. In 2018, Marouf won the MVP award during the maiden edition of the Junior Championship in Orlando Florida, and achieved similar exploit a year later.
His vast game-breaking potentials left enough of a mark as scouts were marvelled by his potent display. This earned him admission into the prestigious NBA academy in Dakar, Senegal.
“The NBA academy got in contact with me. They began to discuss with my dad who accepted the offer. Then I went to the NBA academy in Senegal”.
Marouf Moumine, many have the impression, was born to be an NBA star. He has the ability to develop more eventually becoming the deadliest point guard of his time.
The teenager has proven to be an impact player with his lasser-focused passion, vision, telepathic connection, and his ability to consistently score from anyway a major threat.
