The head coach of Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe has told kick442.com that his side has been properly drilled on the challenges awaiting them in the 2020 cup of Cameroon playoffs competition and his boys are ready for the challenge.
Speaking after his side’s victory on penalty shoot out against University of Buea on Saturday in Tiko the coach opined the importance of the national challenge Cup to the club and players justifying why both parties must open their chest to welcome every challenge thrown towards them.
“It wasn’t easy today against a very good University side. They played like other underdogs will, they were willing to create an upset if we gave them a chance but at the end we won, that’s the most important aspect of today’s game”:Coach Kouoh
University of Buea arrived late for the game with a team of exactly 11 players, it was the club’s first official outing since last year’s unfortunate incident which saw some players kidnapped in training by alleged separatist fighters.
The Njalla Quan Sports Academy gaffer further discussed the importance of a long run in the cup, a feat the club hasn’t achieved for many seasons.
“We are in a pole of four clubs, so our regular season may not give our players sufficient game time, giving we have to play just six matches. This is not the situation we want for players of our Academy, we have decided to take the cup of Cameroon as a bonus with the aim of doing more to ensure we give our all and get as many games as possible. With this in mind, I will like to say we will go one game at a time and mind you, we are not afraid of any club”: Coach Kouoh concluded.
NQSA is one of 16 clubs awaiting the name of their opponents in Tuesday’s draw for the second round of the playoffs to determine the representatives of the Southwest Region in the national challenge Cup.
