Cameroon Internationals Georges Mandjeck and Serge Leuko made a telling contribution on Tuesday as their Belgian Jupiler Pro League outfit Waasland Beveren recorded a two-nil victory against KV Ostende of compatriots Théo Ndicka Matam and Fabrice Ondoa in absentia.
Mandjeck started the game in the holding midfield role while Matam and Leuko waited for their chances on the bench.
Second-half goals from Alessandro Albanese and Danel Sinani was enough for the host to emerge win all three points on offer.
The first segment of the game failed to produce any major spectacle, but it took just a minute of the second segment for 20-year-old Belgian midfielder Alessandro Albanese to put the host ahead.
Luxembourg international Danel Sinani made it two in the 61st minutes, setting Waasland Beveren on their way to a second win while Ostende was stirring a fifth defeat in 12 games this season.
The visitors reacted to the goal with a double substitution almost after conceding, one of the fresh legs being French-born Cameroon-eligible Théo Ndicka Matam.
Waasland introduced full-back Serge Leuko in place scorer Albanese with eight minutes left to defend and win all three points.
Mandjeck was substituted in the 86th minute after a discipline performance in the heart of the midfield.
Both sides threatened in the closing stages of the game but without end product.
The game ended on a two-nil score in favor of Relegation-threatened Waasland Beveren.
The Club currently counts eight points from 12 games this campaign and travel to fellow strugglers Sint-Truiden on Saturday for their match-day 13 commitment.
