Arguably one of the unsung heros in the Cameroon league one championship this season, Colombe of Dja and Lobo forward Hampo Dampmo Man Ykre has been a true source of inspiration for the rest of his teammates in what will surely go down as their best campaign since their promotion to league one four years ago.
The 22-year-old forward scored one of two goals in Sunday’s two nil victory over Cotonsport of Garoua. His second half goal completed the job of taking Cotonsport off the top of the league table for the good of his club.
Colombe being leaders is certainly down to collective efforts from the staff and management of the club though Man Ykre should get slightly greater credit.
The forward has been very consistent in his performance this season, the goal on Sunday was his 7th of a dream season. It put Colombe’s title dreams on the driving seat, nearly the same can be said about his desire to win the golden boot race.
Except in match-day one against Bamboutos FC, every other time he has scored this season, his side goes away with a positive results just like the case of last Sunday against Cotonsport which put them on the top spot for the first time in history.
Should “the man” keep his scoring boots on,then Colombe of Dja and Lobo may just defy bookmakers predictions and snatch the title at the expense of the usual suspects.
