Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo forward, Man-Ykre Dangmo Ngnowa Hapmo has told that he is currently enjoying football under coach Gabriel Zabo at Colombe and his form is not a fluke.

The forward has scored 8 league goals for the current leaders of the Cameroon Elite One championship and thinks a collection of aspects made it possible.

“Looking at the statistics, this has been my best season. I have the confidence of the coaches and a very good preparation for this season. A combination of these two factors can be considered as the reason why things are going so well now”.

Having had somewhat disappointing stints at UMS, Cotonsport, Panthere Security of Garoua amongst other clubs, Man Ykre switched to Colombe of Dja in the build up to the 2017-2018 season but somehow reserved his best performance for this season.

The Brasseries football Academy graduate has won crucial points with his very important goals for Colombe this season.

“I want to give more for my mates and my club, I am ready to treat all games with equal importance and hope we get the desired results.

Leaders Colombe host outgoing champions UMS of Loum in match-day 24 this Sunday in Yaounde.

The forward made his topflight debut in 2014 as a UMS player and plans to treat this Sunday’s game as other games this season.

“We understand we still have to get more points to be assure of being in this division next year. This is why every game is very important to us including the game against UMS”.

Colombe Dja has been one of the in-form clubs especially in the second half of this season.

The club is top of the log with 42 points so far. This season, they are well on course to breaking their record best finish in the division since they got promoted in 2016.

“We will give our all in the 11 games left this season. We want to be happy at the end of the season”

The forward says his career was shaped by Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o in their hail days but these days he looks up to Liverpool’s Sadio Mane for inspiration and hopes to reach Mane’s heights in the years to come.

“Growing up as a kid, I was inspired by Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba who were the best African players in Europe but today Sadio Mane plays the same role”: Man Ykre concluded.

The forward is hoping to end the fairytale season in style by winning the league title and the golden boot for the first time in his career.
