After what seemed a lost tie after a listless first half, City turns the game around in the second half to win PSG by two goals to in the semi final of the UEFA champions league.
A 71st minute freekick from former African footballer of the year and Algerian captain, Ryad Mahrez settled it in Paris for the blue side of Manchester.
PSG had deservedly taken the lead in the 15th minutes of the first half through captain Marquihos header after the home side corner.
However, like a game of two halves, Man City blossomed with each minute of the half looked likely to equal score.
Kelvin De Bruyne’s cross went in without contact deceiving PSG’s goalkeeper Navas to make it 1-1.
It was Mahrez who was the match winner as his freekick sneaked through the wall to give Man City the lead.
Mahrez had asked to take the kick from De Bruyne who is the regular freekick taker for Man City.
“He asked me if he could take it.”
“I said: ‘If you believe in yourself take it!'”
“He scored the goal so who am I to say something about that.” Kelvin said after the match.
He becomes joint top Algerian scorer in the UEFA champions league alongside Yacine Brahimi with 8 goals.
