Football Writer,

The fairy-tale love story between veteran Cameroonian goalkeeper Lukong Nelson Bongaman and Congolese side AS Vita is far from over.

A source at the club has exclusively revealed to that talks are ongoing between the former Mount Cameroon FC of Buea goalkeeper and officials the club who have as aim handing a new deal to the 2018 LINAFOOT goalkeeper of the season.

Lukong, now captain of AS Vita joined the club in 2008 from Astres of Douala, and 12 years down the line, the 39-year-old is still fresh and going.

in 12 years at the club, Lukong and co have edged TP Mazembe thrice to claim the domestic title, won the Congolese super cup trophy and appeared in the CAF Champions League finals on two occasions.

He is currently the longest-serving player at the club and we understand that the club is already planning a post football retirement job for the player but still see a season or two of on the pitch contribution from the man who turns 40 in October.

Unfortunately, despite Lukong’s heroics between the sticks for Vita, he has never had the privilege to represent Cameroon.

We understand that Lukong has been proposed option to take the Congolese nationality and represent the country on multiple occasions but he has repeatedly turned down the option.
