Two time Africa Cup of Nations winner Lucien Mettomo has revealed his all time Cameroon best eleven squad.
‘Monsieur Propre’ as he was described in his hail days revealed his dream Indomitable Lions XI to kick442.com this Thursday.
The selection is comprised of Cameroonian legends who have been hailed as extraordinary talent and have had varied achievements.
The 43-year-old retired footballer has named two time African footballer of the year Thomas N’kono as the team’s shot stopper. N’kono,63 has been considered as arguably the greatest African goal keeper of all-time.
The defence is made up of vastly experienced players capable of providing plenty of energy and assurance.
Former Real Madrid player, Geremi Njitap occupies the right back position. The converted player has played in several positions and preferably the most qualified for this role. He joins former Indomitable captains Emmanuel Mve and Rigobert Song and skillful left back Pierre Wome Nlend to complete the back four.
Two generations of players have been entrusted the midfield. 1990 World Cup attendee Emile Mbouh, Andre Kana-Biyik and the incredibly talented Marc- Vivien Foe offer a natural telephatic trio strong enough to banish opposition threat.
The front three is no surprise to many. Indomitable Lions all time leading goal scorer Samuel Eto’o will share goal scoring duties with Roger Miller, Cameroon’s world cup hero. Patrick Mboma completes the puzzle.
Lucien Mettomo played for Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions between 1997 and 2005. He won 41 caps with country scoring once.
