Victorious Louves Minproff Squad in total frenzy after the win (kick442.com images)

Louves Minproff of Yaounde, has beaten Amazon FAP 5#4 on penalties, to win a thrilling final of the 2019 Women’s football tournament, aimed at celebrating the international women’s day.

The final played at the Yaounde military stadium this Thursday March 07,2019, and chaired by the minister of Women’s empowerment and the Family, Marie Therese Abena Ondoa, saw a display of good football from both sides, with a first segment that ended Zero all.

Louves Minproff looked sharp on attacks through out the game, but an experience defense line of Amazon FAP, manned by Cameroon internationals, Ejangue Siliki and Sonkeng ysis, kept the at Bay for most of the game. Louves kept on pressing and a crack appeared on the wall 20 minutes into the second half, when Charlene meyong menene slotted a good ball pass goalkeeper Ayangma Pauline of Amazon FAP. FAP levelled scores seven minutes later, thanks to an own goal from Therese Ninon Abena of louves Minproff. Goalkeeper Ayangma Pauline will then pull some stunning saves to prevent the damage for Amazon FAP, as the game ended 1#1 after 90 minutes.

 

Iven Mihamle was the only unfortunate player to see her penalty saved by Louves’ shot topper Carole Mimboe, as Therese Abena compensated her own goal, by scoring one of Louves Minproff’s 5 penalties. Josephine Ngandi Ngandi, Meyong menene, Ngo Mback Batoum and Ornella Touta also scored from the spot for Louves, while Nkou Ghislaine, Omboudou Brigette, Ejangue Siliki and Sonkeng ysis scored for FAP, as Louves emerged victorious 5#4.

Charlene Meyong Menene of Louves Minproff was voted woman the match, for her outstanding display.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Augustine Ejangue Siliki expressed her happiness for the quality of play from both teams, and congratulated Louves for their victory and is already looking forward to the start of the women league, schedule for March 16.

On her part, Louves Minproff’s forward, Mpeh Bissong Christina says their system of play gave them an edge over FAP, though she admitted it was a difficult game.

The final came just on the eve of the 2019 international women’s day celebrations.
