Brasserie Football Academy Under-16 have reached the final of the 2021 Limbe International Youth tournament.
The Club picked up a 1-0 against Buea United FC this Friday at the Ngeme Omnisport Annex Stadium.
Yondjo Matah put the Academicians ahead on the struck of half-time, rewarding the efforts of the side dressed in white jerseys and red stripes.
Buea United FC had their chances to equalize especially in the first quarter of the second segment, unfortunately it wasn’t to be.
Eta Junior Tambe created the best chance seven minutes into the second segment but his great setter into the box was cleared by on the goal line by Bakati Ange.
Buea United had a penalty call ignored just a minute later after Festus Kingsley Njako went down in the box but the referee waved play on.
Four minutes later, EFBC came close with a chance of their own, but Nguene Bernard missed from close range.
EFBC’s winger Mohamadou Bashirou came troubling Masaje Roberto two minutes later, dribbled him and put a good cross into the box, Nguene somehow missed again.
Buea United squandered a great chance in the final five minutes.
The game ended on a one-nil score in favour of EFBC though Buea United FC deserved at least a goal.
The result puts the 2020 Champions into the final for consecutive years.
Matam, winner of the top scorer prize in 2021 has been on fire this tournament, scoring in all five games; including two hat tricks.
He is en route to winning the Golden boot like he did in the Under-14 category last season.
EFBC will face Dauphine Academy in the final of the U16 category on Saturday at the Ngeme Omnisport Stadium.
