LIYT 2021: Real Academy of New Stars hold off Best Stars reach another final

Debutants Real Academy of Douala Under-18 have secured qualification for the final of the 2021 Limbe International Youth tournament.

Kouenkam Brown scored the lone goal five minutes from time to earn a win against Tetteh Evans and mates in the exciting game that ended on a one-nil score.

Real Football Academy were pragmatic in the semi-final fixture at the Ngeme Annex Stadium but took their chance when it came.

Both sides failed to score in the opening 45 minutes of the game though Ekoi Jonas and Soppo Likanjo had gilt-edged opportunities to give the 2020 finalist the lead.

The game was goalless at the break but had to produce a winner.

Best Stars brought on Luis Itare earlier in the second segment but their attacking options.

Brown made the difference with an 84th minute set piece that was poorly read by captain Tetteh Evans.

The game ended on a one-nil score for Real Academy.

Real Academy will face the winners of the second semi-final game.
