Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp, has confirmed his side will be without the services of 28-year-old Cameroonian defender Joel Matip on Wednesday evening when they welcome Crystal Palace.
Champions in-waiting, Liverpool will have to line up a team without the former Schalke 04.
Matip was stretchered-off in the 73rd minutes of Saturday’s virgin draw against Everton, he is certain to miss Wednesday’s Match-day 31 fixture. Klopp revealed to the media during Tuesday’s pre-match presser.
“Millie [James Milner] and Joel are not available for tomorrow. We need to know the exact problem, but they are not available tomorrow,” the erstwhile Dortmund gaffer stated in an interview tracked by the kick442.com team.
It is the 15th career injury for Matip who only returned from another 84 days lay off in January.
Dejan Lovren came in for Matip in the Everton encounter, he remains an option for the Palace game.
Matip has struggled with injuries this term. It is the third time Matip is having to miss games because of injury this season.
The 2014 world lone goal scorer for Cameroon has featured in just nine of his Club’s 30 Premier League games.
On a positive note, Klopp confirmed the involvement of Egypt’s Mohamed in the game.
Liverpool and Matip are two wins away from being champions of England for the first in 30 years.
