Newly-invited Indomitable Lions of Cameroon midfielder Yvan Neyou of French Ligue 1 side AS Saint Etienne has taken to social media to express his excitement about being call up to the Cameroon team for this month’s AFCON qualifiers games against Cape Verde Island and Rwanda.
The midfielder who was first invited to the team last October failed to join the team and later revealed to the media that he wasn’t ready for the demands of the den has been retained in the 25-man squad to begin camp next week.
Reacting to coach Antonio Conceição’s investment of confidence in him, Neyou posted a photo depicting the national colors with a Lions emoji watermarked and an interesting comment.
“Happy to be invited to the Cameroon team for the first time,” the former Braga midfield metronome scribbled.
Neyou is expected to bring Club form to country having scored once, assisted twice in 24 appearances for Saint Etienne this season.
He will compete for or complete the midfield spots with the likes of Arnaud Djoum, Zambo Anguissa, Martin Hongla, Samuel Oum Gouet and Jean Emile Onana.
