Coach Gabriel Zabo Toze and a number of the Lionesses picked for the preparations camp for the third round 2022 Women’s African cup of Nations qualifiers games against the Central African Republic have opened camp in Yaounde ahead of this Friday’s clash against the female Scorpions of Gambia.
All but two of the Lionesses retained for the camp arrived the team’s base by this Tuesday and took to their rooms ahead of the first training session penciled for Tuesday evening.
The list of the players made public for the camp and qualifiers includes three goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders and five attackers.
Louves Minproff keeper Ange Bawou,Michaely Bihina of Eclair of Saa and FC Ebolowa’s Ayangma Pauline make-up the goalkeeping compartment.
The likes Moumazim Michelle Brigitte of AWA Ladies, Wanki Rita and Tsada Doloresse are lined-up to manage the defensive compartment of the team.
The six players summoned to guard the midfield includes Abega Berthe of AWA Ladies, France-based Ngock Yqngo and Ebenye Ebongue of AS FAP amongst others.
Meanwhile, the attacking area will be managed by the likes of Flora Kameni who netted 15 goals in the 2021 Guinness Super League in Cameroon.
Most big names accustomed with call-ups in the team have returned including European-based duo Aboudi Onguene, Nchout Njoya Ajara and newcomer Bella Rose based in Turkey.
The biggest home-based absentees are the likes of forward Brenda Tabe who just finished the Under-20 FIFA World cup qualifier as lead scorer, injured Estelle Laura Johnson and unfit Raissa Feudjio.
The multiple AWCON runners-up will face the Scorpion Ladies of Gambia in a double header on February 18 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde in Cameroon and 24 in the Gambia.
It is one of the final qualifiers to the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations programmed to take place in Morocco in November this year.
The game will be Coach Gabriel Zabo’s third official outing as lead trainer of the side.
The gaffer will be banking on the 25 fresh bloods summoned to earned qualification.
