Best Stars Academy of Limbe have conquered Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe to reach the final of the 2020 Limbe International Youth tournament for the second year in a row.
A last minute strike from Bassey Bibi settled the contest in favour of Best Stars Academy of Limbe Under-16.
Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe and Best Stars Academy of the same city thrilled the fans with in exciting semi-final game this Thursday at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium Annex.
The Former dominated the early exchanges of the encounter emerging with the ball in most of the aerial duels but were lacking in the final third.
The end-to-end first-half surprisingly failed to produce a goal but both sides failed to score from their multiple chances in the half.
NQSA returned for the second segment looking mire incisive in their runs and attacking play.
The boys of coach Freddy Kouoh and Tete Edwin created a handful of chances but Jong Simeon and Kamyou Ulrich stopped the multiple incursions from NQSA’s Kimbi Lovis and Nyabi James.
16 minutes into the second segment, Best Stars’ Bassey Bibi wiped in a wicked set piece from the left flank but Ndoutou Alfred and his colleagues at the back efficiently dealt with it.
Kimbi Lovis muscled his way into the box barely two minutes later but a desperate clearance from Essama Ndzana put the ball out of touch in a nervy moment which he nearly beat his own keeper.
The resulting corner was properly dealt with by goalkeeper Arrey Etta Desmond.
The pace of the game then slowed down but NQSA looked dangerous every time they break from the midfield.
Nyabi James missed a great chance in the box when he met an inch-perfect set-piece delivery with his head but the went wide.
Best Stars Academy upped their energy level in the final five minutes of the encounter creating a number of chances.
Bassy Baldy Bibi scored the winner for Best Stars Academy of Limbe putting the ball past goalkeeper Oyong Desire from close range.
The Academians of coach Djoufack Saturnin protected the one goal advantage till full-time, booking a ticket to the final at the expense of their city rivals for the second year in a spin.
Best Stars Academy of Limbe will confront the winner in the game pitting Cinyodev FA against EFORCA of Douala.
