The Cameroon National football Academy (ANAFOOT) southwest has qualified for the final of the 2020 Limbe International Youth tournament.
The boys of coach Nlend Aime defeated Ajax Maroua by 3-2 on post-match penalties after the game had ended goalless at the Ngeme Annex Stadium stadium.
The goalkeeping heroics of heroics of Pascal Ngembus made the difference during the most important moment of the game.
The 16-year Cameroonian keeper barely a year into his time at ANAFOOT saved two penalties during shoot out to hand the victory to his side.
The result takes ANAFOOT to their first final in just their second participation in the tournament.
It has been a remarkable recovery from Agbor Lionel who lost their first game by five goals to nil, played a 1-1 draw in the second and has since won the next three games.
“It has been recovery for us, we have worked harder especially psychologically after our defeat in the first in the first game.We are happy with the performance and stay positive going forward.” Nlend Aime told kick442.com.
They face winners of the second semi-final game pitting EFBC and Njalla Quan Sports Academy of Limbe in the final.
