CS Maritimo took an early lead on their travels courtesy of their on loan Cameroon international Joel Tagueu before home side Famalicao FC came back to equalise on the whistle; 90 + 6 additional minutes.

Joel Tagueu’s industrious first half-an-hour brought him forth a goal at the 22nd minute but his team could not hold on to the very end to grab the three points up for grabs on Famalicao’s home patch.

This was the Cameroon international’s second game since his return to the club on a 6 – months loan spell in January, one of the reason’s why coach Jose Gomez handed him a well deserved rest just four minutes after the hour mark.

That was the 26-year-old’s first goal on his return to the Portuguese outfit for a second loan spell running.

To say the very least, Diederrick Joel Tagueu just loves scoring in the Liga Nos. Last campaign, during the forward’s loan spell – he scored 17 goals out of 45 appearances which led to his AFCON 2019 selection by then Cameroon coach – Clarence Seerdorf, but it wasn’t meant to be, as a minor cardiac problem sidelined him.

SC Maritimo would be leaking their lips collectively as they have gotten their star man back, which would enable the club better on her 11th spot with just 20 points after 17 playing days.

Tagueu and co are away to Portuguese giants Sporting CP next Wednesday as they look to continue keeping their heads above the waterline in the ‘seesaw’ Portuguese League.
