Joel Diederick Tagueu was in fine form as he scored a hat-trick to inspire Maritimo to a 4-0 victory over Boavista in their Liga Nos clash at the at home on Saturday.
Matheus Costa had put Maritimo 1-0 up after 42 minutes, finishing off an individual effort as Boavista’s defending left a lot to be desired.
Maritimo forward Taugueu netted a second just before the break and added a third for the hosts with 27 minutes left to play, from the penalty spot.
The 28-year old completed his hat trick in the 69th minute before Boavista of Paul Georges Ntep was reduced to ten following the sending off of Petar Musa.
The game at the Estadio Dos Barreiros ended 4-0 in favour of the boys Maritimo with Paul Georges Ntep on the visitors side watching from the bench for 90 minutes.
The comprehensive Match-Day 30 victory sees coach Vasco Seabra’s side assume the seventh spot in the table, albeit with Pacos Ferrierra who lost by 0-4 away to Vitoria SC.
Tagueu is the current top scorer for his club with nine goals in 21 league games.
Tagueu has now scored 40 goals plus six assists in 124 matches in all competitions for Maritimo.
