20-year-old Al Ahli Tripoli player Abu Al-Qasem Rajab participated in the Tripoli international half Marathon and finished third.

The player opted to participate in the race given that there is no domestic football currently going on in Libya as a result of security problems.

Over 2000 athletes from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Sudan, Nigeria, United Kingdom and the Philippines took part in the race.

If the ongoing security problems in Libya persist, then it will not be surprising to see Abu Al- Qasem Rajab switch seamlessly from football to long distance running.
