The consequences of the CoronaVirus pandemic,is threatening people’s livelihood and governments around the world are very active in implementing measures to stop the spread of the virus.
Knowing the biting effect of the present time, the Liberia Football Association, LFA has decided weigh in to support clubs and football actors in the market.
The LFA has approved the sum of US$4,200 as subvention payment to each club in the men’s first and second divisions and the women’s top division of the 2019/2020 season.
According to a statement on the LFA Facebook page, honorariums of executive committee members, salaries advance to employees and payment of arrears to former and current technical staffs of the national team for two months were also approved at a committee meeting of the FA on 11th April.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Liberia Football Association, Isaac Montgomery released a statement to call on everyone to join hands and fight the virus to eliminate it in Liberia and the world as a whole.
”In these unprecedented circumstances, let us show solidarity in the fight against Covid-19 and prevent further spread of the virus.”
”Together as a unit, I believe that we can collectively eliminate the coronavirus out of Liberia and the rest of the world.” Montgomery said.
Liberia is currently led by one of football greats in president George Weah, this puts extra eyes on the country’s football.
