Presidents of Elite One and Two Clubs in Cameroon have met in Yaoundé-Cameroon in an extraordinary general assembly meeting as part of preparations for the upcoming season.
20 of the 35 presidents who own top-flight and second tier Championship sides in Cameroon met at the esplanade of the Mansel hotel.
The modification of section 4 of article 33 on the status of LFPC related to elections of board members, validation of the final outcome of the two championships organized by the transitional technical committee, and the adoption of the regulations of the two championships for the 2020_2021 season were the point of interest of Tuesday’s meeting.
In the end, representatives from Elite One sides; Avion Academy, New Stars, AS Fortuna, Canon Yaounde, Cotonsport of Garoua, Djiko FC of Bandjoun UMS of Loum, Panthère of Nde, Colombe of Dja and Elite Two sides; Fauve Azur, Léopard of Douala, AS FAP, Aigle Royal, Lion Blesse of Fortuni and OFTA of Kribi
modified targeted law, validated the results of last season’s concerned Championships and adopted the rules for the Elite One and Two competitions for the 2020-2021 season.
General Pierre Semengue, the president of the Cameroon Professional football league, LFPC, assured stakeholders that there are plans underway for the resumption of the 2020-2021 season as soon as possible.
Attendees kick442.com spoke to have expressed optimism and hope this marks the beginning of the end of the imbroglio which has put Cameroon football out of the pitch since the government gave the go ahead for the resumption of football activities.
Tentative unofficial Elite One fixtures for the upcoming season are currently circulating on social media and according to the fixtures, match-day games maybe played by November 1.
Official league football activities have been off in Cameroon since the outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic in the Central African nation in March this year.
