The world Football governing body, FIFA has published it’s latest women’s national team ranking for the month of March.

The latest rankings leave the USA at the top of the Women’s game at the World stage while Nigeria leads in Africa.

The Superfalcons of Nigeria are first on the continent and 38th in the world. Assisat Oshoala and her mates were not involved in an international game in the last international break but have improved by a single place.

The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon have dropped from 49th in the last ranking to 51 in this month. The dropped in the ranking is most likely as a result of their elimination by Zambia in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifiers after a 4-4 aggregate score.

The Zambians on their part are the biggest climbers in the month. The girls of coach Bruce Mwape have improved by six places.

They are now ranked 100th in the world and 10th on the continent.
Barbra Banda and her mates created history this month. They became the first generation of Zambia girls to earn qualification of their nation for the Olympics games.

Cameroon will face Chile who are world number 37 in a two legged playoffs on a date still to be determined. Chile also dropped by a place in the latest rankings.
