New Stars defender Lane Lakem has recovered quickly and resumed light training after picking up a knock and being substituted in the second half of Sunday’s CAF confederation cup game away against Gor Mahia in Nairobi.

Lane trained on his own on Tuesday and coach Gerard Mbimbi has told the experienced left back and left sided midfielder will be ready for Sunday’s all important clash against Gor Mahia in Limbe.

“Lane will be ready for Sunday, the doctors have given me the assurance. He has resumed light training and will join the group as soon as we get the doctor’s okay”;coach Gerard Mbimbi.

Lane Lakem have made 5 starts for New Stars in 5 CAF Confederation cup games this season and his return will be a boast for a New Stars team that will be without Goalkeeper Kibyen Lionel and defender Orian Jores all suspended.

New Stars lost 2-1 away to Gor Mahia and a 1 nil win for the club in Limbe will see the club qualify for the group stage of the CAF Confederation cup for the first time in history.
