The Belgian Football Federation has announced the official date for the Belgian Cup final, between Royal Antwerp and Club Brugge.
Cameroon internationals Didier Lamkel Ze and Martin Hongla of Royal Antwerp will face Krepin Diatta’s Club Brugge on August 1st at the Stade du Roi Baudouin in Brussels.
Despite terminating the Belgian league and crowning Club Brugge as league winners, as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Belgian authorities maintained that the cup final must be played.
Club Brugge will try to claim the domestic double when they face Royal Antwerp, who finished fourth on the 2019-2020 league table.
The reigning Cup winners are FC Malines who defeated Gent in the last final.
Sixteen times Belgian league winners Club Brugge will be looking to add to their 11 Belgian Cup titles, while four times Belgian league champions Royal Antwerp, will be out to win a third domestic cup trophy after lastly doing so in 1992.
