Didier Lamkel Ze provided an assist as his Club Royal Antwerp were held to a 1-1 draw against Standard Liege on matchday 27 of the Belgian Jupila Pro Championship. Lamkel Ze’s assist at the 28mins was converted by Nil De Pauw and ensured that the team went home with a point.
The equalizer came after Antwerp had fallen behind with Standard Liege’s Carcela-Gonzales had converted a penalty kick at the 8mins of play. The lead for Standard Liege did not last for long as Antwerp came back powerfully to force an equalizer.
At first half, both sides could not be separated as they went into half time 1-1. The second half began with both sides looking to take the lead. With limited chances created by Standard Liege and Antwerp the game ended 1-1 between the two sides at full time.
Cameroon’s trio martin Hongla, Lamkel Ze and Franck Boya started the game for the visiting Antwerp, who was playing their second league game away from home. The trio all pick up a yellow card each in the encounter. Standard Liege’s Cameroonian Fai Collins did not feature in the game and was neither on the substitute bench.
This draw for Antwerp comes after the side won Beerschot 2-1 on matchday 26. The team are second in the championship with 47 points after 27 matches, 13 points behind leaders Club Brugge who have a game in hand.
Royal Antwerp who has been on the road will be at home for their next encounter as they challenge St Truiden on February 21 looking for all three points.
