Former Uganda Champions Lady Doves took time yesterday to confirm the departure of their striker Fazila Ikwaput.
This comes after reports were all over that the prolific striker had secured a move to a European club.
Fazila Ikwaput has been instrumental for the Believers where she has been since 2019 scoring 36 goals in 34 games.
Fazila Ikwaput won Lady Doves FC 2020/21 Fufa Women Super League title scoring 8 goals in the process and was part of the team that participated in the Cecafa Zonal CL Qualifiers in Kenya last year.
The Crested Cranes forward last season netted 15 times to help Lady Doves stay in the League.
Fazila Ikwaput attracted a string of Suitor’s after a wonderful season combined with National team participation.
Ikwaput was the MVP in the CECAFA Women Championship held in June and was also second on the list of top scorers behind Opa Clement (Tanzania).
She scored 6 goals in the CECAFA championship and was also part of the Crested Cranes team that represented Uganda at WAFCON in Morocco.
Fazila was rumoured to join Tanzania Giants Simba Queens before the Zonal Qualifiers but now reports show that she is set to pen a signature with Cyprus Based Club Omonia Women FC.
