Pierre Kunde Malong’s FSV Mainz has revived their survival chances with a brilliant two-nil victory at the Signa Iduna Park against 2nd-placed Borussia Dortmund this Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
Goals from Jonathan Burkardt and Jean Meteta in either half handed a two nil win for Kunde Malong and his colleagues.
Malong started the game, and lasted 75 minutes, before been replaced by Leandro Barreiron with his side leading by 2-0.
The victory is the Club’s 10th of the season and takes their points tally to 34 points from 32 games played so far.
With two games left, Kunde’s Mainz are on the 15th spot in the 18 Clubs championship.
Mainz are five points away from the relegation playoffs and six points away from the automatic relegation place.
Mainz host Weder Bremen on Saturday, before traveling to challenge Bayer Leverkusen a week after for the last game of the season.
The Club has dedicated the latest win to Taiwo Awoniyi who picked up an injury in their last home game.
