Indomitable of Lions Cameroon trainer António Conceição Da Silva Oliviera has named a changed XI for tonight’s final AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Rwanda.
The Portuguese gaffer made sweeping changes to the team that suffered a 3-1 defeat to Cape Verde Island on Friday, keeping just captain Vincent Aboubakar, scorer Pierre Kunde Malong and winger Nicolas Moumie Ngamaleu.
Midfielders Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa who did not travel and Martin Hongla who came in as a substitute and hit the post, join full backs Fai Collins and Jonathan Joseph Ngwem plus center-backs Michael Ngadeu plus Blondey Meyapia amongst the starters for the 8pm kick-off.
Njie Clinton who came on and nearly scored against Cape Verde completes the XI.
Cameroon with a 22-year unbeaten record in Douala will be keen on getting a win to restore the confidence that reigned in the team before the Cape Verde bubble.
Kunde’s inclusion emphasizes his importance to coach Conceição’s plans as he has featured in six of the seven games under the gaffer going into tonight’s clash.
The gaffer has a full substitute bench to pick from.
Cameroon needs to avoid defeat to finish winners of group F with 11 points and qualify for their own AFCON tournament penciled for early next year while Rwanda must win to end their 18-years absence from the AFCON.
