African stars in the NBA were in actions late yesterday night and early this morning.
Jonathan Kuminga was in action for the Golden State Warriors as they won 104:95 on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry’s 33 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Jonathan Kuminga made 5 points and 2 rebounds in the win against the Los Angeles Clippers The win further cemented the Warriors status as the number one seeded team in the West with a 18:2 record. The Los Angeles Clippers fall to 11:9, 5th seed in the West.
Nigerian international, Chimezie Metu and the Sacramento Kings lost 128:101 to the Memphis Grizzlies. Chimezie Metu started the game and contributed 8 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists in the loss to the Grizzlies who are missing star player, Ja Morant to injury. The Grizzlies improve to 10:10, 9th seed in the West while the Kings are now 8:13, 11th seed in the same conference.
Finally, the duo of Nigerian international, Precious Achiuwa and his Cameroonian counterpart, Pascal Siakam could not prevent the Toronto Raptors from falling 97:109 to the Boston Celtics. The duo who both started the game combined for 24 points, with Siakam having 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists while Achiuwa had 6 points, 9 rebounds and an assist. The Raptors are now pegged at 9:12, 12th seed in the East while the Celtics are 11:10, 9th seed in the same conference.
